Money tab overview

What the Money tab actually shows — Earned, Outstanding, Coverage, plus where to find recent payments and top clients. Profit margin is not yet computed.

The Money tab is the financial summary screen for your freelance business. It lives as the fifth tab on the bottom bar and pulls from every paid invoice, outstanding invoice, and accepted-but-uninvoiced quote in your database.

This article is the orientation. The other articles in this category go deeper on each section.

The three top KPIs

KPIWhat it means
EarnedSum of every payment recorded against your invoices in the selected period. The number you would tell an accountant.
OutstandingSum of the remaining balance on every unpaid invoice plus the total of every accepted quote that hasn't been turned into an invoice yet. The number you would tell a stressed-out future you.
CoverageEarned divided by Invoiced for the selected period, expressed as a percentage and capped at 100%. Tints red below 50%, orange below 80%, green above. The number that tells you what share of the work you billed has actually been paid.

All three update live as you record payments, mark quotes accepted, or convert quotes to invoices.

Period filter

Three options at the top of the tab:

  • This month — calendar month, in your local timezone.
  • This year — calendar year.
  • All time — every record since you started.

Every KPI and section honours the picker.

Outstanding section

Below the KPIs, outstanding items are grouped into five buckets:

  • Overdue — invoices past their due date.
  • Due soon — invoices due in the next seven days.
  • Unpaid — sent invoices not yet overdue.
  • Draft — invoices in draft that haven't gone out.
  • Accepted, not invoiced — quotes the client accepted but you haven't converted to an invoice.

Each row shows the count, the age ("3 days overdue", "due tomorrow"), and a quick action — send a reminder, convert the quote, etc. See Outstanding bucket explained for the details.

Recent payments

The last five payments in the selected period. Each row shows the invoice title, the client, the amount, and the paid date. Tap a row to jump to the invoice.

Top clients

The top three clients by paid amount in the selected period. Shows each client's share as a percentage of total earned. If your earnings are split across currencies, the section opens a breakdown sheet that splits everything by currency.

Chase this first

The Money tab also surfaces an AI Priority section — "Chase this first" — with the next few items you should follow up on. The ranking is rule-based (Overdue first, then Accepted-not-invoiced, then Unpaid, then Due soon, then Draft). It is not LLM-driven; same inputs produce the same ranking every time.

Multi-currency

If your invoices span multiple currencies, the KPIs surface a primary currency (your most-billed currency) by default with a "breakdown" link that opens a per-currency sheet. The Money tab does not auto-convert between currencies — every figure is reported in its native currency.

What the Money tab does NOT show

  • Profit margin / net profit. Not yet computed. Earned, Outstanding and Coverage are the three KPIs today. Profit calculation (revenue minus your cost of delivery, including own labour at the floor rate) is a planned feature.
  • Cash-flow projections. No 30/60/90-day forecast view today.
  • Expenses. No expense tracking; the app focuses on the invoice and payment side.

Troubleshooting

  • Numbers don't match what I'm seeing in invoices. Check the period filter — This month won't include last month's payments.
  • Currency looks wrong. Tap the Earned or Outstanding card to open the multi-currency breakdown.
  • Empty state on a fresh install. The Money tab requires at least one invoice or accepted quote to surface KPIs. Send your first invoice and the tab populates instantly.
