Adding or editing a client

How to add a new client, edit an existing one, archive an old one, and what each field actually changes downstream.

By Cenker ÇetinClients And Projects3 min read

Clients are the people or companies you bill. Each one owns its own projects, quotes, invoices and payment history. This article covers the edit form in detail and the side effects of changing each field.

Goal: by the end of this you'll know which fields are safe to change later and which to think twice about.

Add a client

Tap the Clients tab, then + in the top right. Two sections plus notes:

  • Details — Name (required), Company (optional), Email (optional), Phone (optional).
  • Currency — defaults to your Settings → Defaults currency. Override when the client pays you in another currency.
  • Notes — anything you want to remember.

Tap Save.

Edit a client

Tap a client in the list, then Edit. Same form, with the existing values pre-filled.

What each field actually changes

FieldAffects
NameDisplay on the client list, project header, quote and invoice PDFs.
CompanyOptional second line on quotes and invoices.
EmailThe "to" address suggestion when you share a quote or invoice; not auto-emailed.
PhoneReference only — never auto-dialled.
CurrencyThe default currency for new quotes and invoices for this client. Existing quotes and invoices keep their currency.
NotesLocal-only memo. Not shared anywhere.

Archive a client (instead of deleting)

Swipe a client row left for an Archive action. Archived clients drop off the main list but their projects, quotes, invoices and payments remain accessible — useful for end-of-engagement cleanup without losing history.

To see archived clients, toggle Show Archived from the Clients tab toolbar.

Troubleshooting

  • Changed the currency, old quote still shows the old one. That's intentional — historical quotes keep the currency they were issued in.
  • Archived a client by mistake. Toggle Show Archived on, tap the client, then Restore.
  • Email field rejected something. The field is plain text and not strictly validated; double-check for typos before sharing.
