Adding your first client

Add a client so you can attach projects, quotes and invoices to them. The form is short — name and currency are the only things that matter.

Before you start

A client in FreelancerFlow is whoever pays your invoice — a company, a person, or yourself if you're invoicing through an entity. Add the client first, then attach projects, quotes and invoices to them.

Goal: by the end of this you'll have one client saved with at least a name and a currency.

Prerequisites

Step 1: Open the Clients tab

The Clients tab lives at the bottom of the screen. Tap it to see your client list. On a fresh install it shows an empty state with an Add Client button.

Step 2: Tap Add Client

Either the empty-state CTA or the + button in the top right opens the New Client form.

Step 3: Fill in the form

Two sections, all optional except the name:

  • Details — Name (required), Company (optional), Email (optional), Phone (optional).
  • Currency — pick the currency you bill this client in. The picker defaults to your base currency from Settings → Defaults. Override only when the client pays you in a different currency.
  • Notes — anything you want to remember (which Slack channel, payment quirks, NDAs).

Step 4: Save

Tap Save. You land back on the client list with the new client at the top.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't save. Name is the only required field — check that it's not empty.
  • Wrong currency. Tap the client row, then Edit, then change the currency. Existing quotes and invoices keep their original currency; new ones will use the new default.
  • Duplicate clients. If you accidentally created two records for the same client, archive the duplicate by swiping the row.
