FreelancerFlow's trial is seven days of full Pro access through the App Store's StoreKit subscription. Unlike a typical "limited trial," you get every feature unlocked for the entire seven days. After day 7 the trial converts to a paid Pro subscription unless you cancel.
Starting the trial
The trial starts when you tap Start free trial on the paywall and confirm the Apple ID purchase prompt. You won't be charged immediately — Apple records the trial and starts the seven-day countdown.
The paywall surfaces a clear price for what happens after the trial — that's the price you'll be charged on day 8 unless you cancel before then.
What's unlocked
Everything. During the trial, you can:
- Create unlimited clients, projects, tasks, quotes and invoices.
- Use AI Fill Tasks (subject to the 20-call monthly quota during the trial — see AI quota explained).
- See and act on every section of the Money tab.
- Export PDFs.
- Use cloud sync.
There is no difference between trial-tier features and Pro-tier features. The trial is Pro for seven days.
The countdown banner
While on the trial, the dashboard shows a small banner with the days remaining. It changes colour as the deadline approaches:
- Days 7–3 — calm purple. Informational.
- Days 2–1 — orange. Reminder.
- Day 0 — red. Trial ends today.
Tap the banner to see more details about what happens next, or to convert early.
You can dismiss the banner with the × button. It re-appears the next day.
What happens on day 8
Apple charges your iCloud-linked payment method automatically. The Pro features stay unlocked; nothing visually changes inside the app. You'll get an emailed receipt from Apple, and the next renewal will hit on the same day each month (or year, depending on the plan you picked).
If your payment fails, Apple will retry a few times over the following days. The Pro features stay unlocked during the grace period; if the retries all fail, your account moves to read-only mode and you lose write access (you can still read your data).
Cancelling before day 8
Cancellation goes through the App Store, not through FreelancerFlow:
- Open iOS Settings (the system Settings app).
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find FreelancerFlow.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
You can do this at any point during the trial. You keep the Pro features for the rest of the seven days, then the account moves to read-only mode when day 7 ends.
What "read-only mode" means
After the trial, the account moves to read-only mode: you can sign in and view your existing data, but you can't create new clients, projects, tasks, quotes, or invoices, and AI Fill Tasks is gated until you subscribe. Your data is preserved indefinitely; subscribing to Pro restores full access immediately.
Troubleshooting
- Don't see a trial offer on the paywall. Apple only offers the trial once per Apple ID. If you've used it before — even on a different device — the paywall will show the paid option directly.
- Got charged early. Most likely the seven days elapsed faster than you expected. Apple counts in 24-hour periods from the moment you started.
- Want to switch from monthly to yearly mid-trial. Tap the paywall again and pick the other plan. Apple handles the swap.
